Emergency! My rooster is beating up my pulleys! Help!

My 1 1/2 year old rooster is beating up my pullets! He’s picking on 3 of them. My 2 Easter eggers & my red speckled Sussex. My pullets are 13 weeks old give or take. I’m worried he might try to kill one of them. Help. What should I do?

I would keep them separate as your pullets are much too young to defend themselves.

No adults. My 2 adults just died 2 weeks ago. They kept him in line. A dog got both of them & one of my pullets.

He is too old to be with the young pullets. They do not know how to deal with a rooster yet. Do you have older hens, or a separate run for him?

You should clean the wounds and spray them with antibiotic Blue Kote or else to prevent flies laying their eggs.

In this picture it looks as if there are already some eggs on the wound (the white pearly things)

We are in the process of building another run. However, it might take a while to finish. How long until I can try to put them back together again?

That's sad.

Nonetheless the pullets will still take several more month until they start laying and only then can you have them join the rooster.

Maybe you could buy some adult hens for him or rehome the rooster.

It’s sand particles. I already checked those. Can I treat it with neosporin & then cover with Vaseline to keep bugs away? To clean it can I use hydrogen peroxide?
