We had to clip the nail on our rooster because he's been ripping the skin off our hens.

Unfortunately, the first one we trimmed was done too far. We've been trhing for almost an hour to get it to stop bleeding.

We've tried pressure,
dipping it in flour (we don't have cornstarch)

Can't find the superglue, although i'm looking now...

Any thoughts?

It's a slow drip, drip, drip about every 3 seconds.

Thanks!!!!

Also you could try some white vinegar. Dont really know if it works, but my grandma use to swear by it!
Good luck!!

Wash nail with warm water, place cloth over, you can either dip toe in flour again for a few seconds, then apply pressure with the flour caked into toenail, see if it will stop bleeding or apply ice to quick, apply pressure. Wash flour off after about 20 minutes. Is the quick exposed,if so watch for infection and bandage toe,you may want to keep him inside for a day.

Hen saddles will protect their backs.

k, the flour seemed to create a scab. We taped up the claw really well.

There's not much more we can do. I put clean shavings in the coop.

and will be looking for hen saddle patterns tonight :-)

thank you everyone!!!!
