Emergency please help

Okay so today my father came to me and gave me an egg he said it was lying on the balcony of mygrandparents house with no nest nor parents. It is a small egg and it has no large end or it seems that way. It has no cracks on it its unharmed. I've researched and tried to candle it I've seen a small darker place compared to other and an air cell which is moving. Basically The egg lights up when I try to candle it but there is a little darker area (which also moves when I move the egg). I also tried to see what happens when I put it in warm water and a small part of it floats(probably the air cell) I really don't know what to do orif it is even alive and if so I really don't want him dead what should I do ?

It sounds like it is alive. Although, i don't know if it will die, because you are not supposed to but incubating eggs in water. I guess you will have to wait for someone more experienced in this matter to answer.

I'm not incubating them in water I did that to check if it is alive and thank you for answering

Yeah, I understand checking them, but I just know that usually, if you get eggs wet that you are hatching, they will die.

Can you post a pic of it? Do you have an incubator? I personally think that it might be dead. . .we rescued some quail eggs awhile ago and most of them died with in an hour. We were able to save a few though and stuck them in the incubator.
