EMERGENCY

So sorry about your silkie. Is she still alive? I would not let the vet put her under anesthesia to remove the mass, since chickens do not respond well to that. If you lose her, I would try to get a necropsy by your state vet. The body has to be kept refrigerated, not frozen.

Unfortunately she passed away. I took her outside thinking it may help her because she was acting like she wanted to go out, she was okay for a few minutes..but started to cease and then passed away. I have such a big heart and it about killed me. They're like my babies. I know call me the crazy chicken lady, but they each have their own personality and this one was just so sweet.
I buried her. I didnt want to put her through anything else. Thank yall for the kind words and everything. I greatly appreciate it.

Thank yall. This evening we went out and checked all of our other silkies we rescued and they were fine and did not have anything like that. I'm worried about my polish who was close with that silkie now. They were inseparable. So now shes sulking and being a loner. I have 4 roos and 3 hens now in that pen. I'm going to go look at 3 silkies soon, hopefully.

This silkie is one of my favorites. I always said "looks like an alpaca, quacks like a duck, must be my chicken."
Shes the one in my photo. She was something else

So sorry for your loss. It could be a month before they begin to lay just under normal moved to a new farm reaction. With the stress they were under it could be longer, depending on the physical condition and how long it takes to get to a place of healing it might be after the equinox.
