95 might be too hot for week old chicks.

Can you take a picture of your brooder right now?

For a poopy chick, running a light stream of warm water over the butt should be enough to clean them off (for future reference). I would use a paper towel and just make sure he's dry if he's acting chilly.

they turned a week yesterday. they just got home to me 2 days ago, the poopy but was with the other lady, im not sure how her brooder was.
My thermo is at 95 on one side but on the other side of the brooder it reads 90

At a week old my brooder is at 88 on the hot side. Some other people only go down 5 degrees a week, but I go down 10.

If it helps to know I have 6 day old quail...which are really small...at only 80 degrees and I will be dropping it to 75 tomorrow.

You are going to over heat your chicks and the poopy but is not going to get better.
