Emotional support needed to kill mean rooster

you don't think about it you just do it, being a meany is a good reason to do it catch him with hubby's fishing net oif need be and pull him out by his feet and shouldn't be to much of a problem.

I wish we had a fishing net lol. I tried to grab him last night but he was on top of a 6ft fence. I grabbed a hen (i'm trying to clip all the wings), and he decided to try and charge me. Mind you, he was fully asleep luckily he got caught in a tomato plant

does he have a favorite treat, if you have a live trap put it in there and catch him

Don't they roost in a coop at night? About ten minutes after you shut them in, when they're quiet and settled, it should be pretty easy to go pluck him off the roost. Hold his feet, hang him upside down for a minute if you have to till he settles down, tuck him under your arm keeping hold of his feet and it should be pretty easy to control him. From there you can either stuff him into a crate over night if you're taking him to a butcher in the morning, or off to the chopping block.

I might just go with having someone process it. I need him gone like yesterday and the longer I contemplate doing it the harder it's getting ‍♀️ maybe if I can sweet talk my husband to helping me I could do it, I just don't like handling him period. He's a big old meany

@ 0:07 especially.

The one from The water Boy is more appropriate, but I couldn't find a bleeped version.

I've read the methods, I think I like the broom one the best. It seems the least messiest. I have a fear I will start and not be effective enough, leaving him in pain

First I wish you good luck, I know it's not easy. I had a girl attacked and with much support from everyone here, I put her down. I used the broom stick method to, It was horrible for me. One because she was my pet and 2 because I screwed up the first attempt. I was so scared of popping her head off that I didn't stand on the stick heavy enough and her head pulled through, tearing some of the side of her head causing bleeding. So I had to move very quickly to lay her head back in the divot and do it again to stop the suffering. I'm not trying to scare you just know that you need to put your weight on that stick so that doesn't happen to you. With this method you can look away when you tug to dislocate the head. I also kept looking away until she stopped twitching.

You say you need some emotional support to do what you know needs to be done. Maybe this will help. I, too, put off dealing with an increasingly aggressive rooster. My 12-yo boy was doing chicken chores. I started doing chores because I didn't trust the roo. But I still had no idea how bad a rooster could hurt you until he came after me. That was the day he died, but it took a couple of months for my injury to completely heal. I'll never put up with "a big old meany" again. Do it. Do it ASAP. This bird can seriously hurt you or somebody else. Courage, my friend!

They do but only my old girls go in by themselves, hence clipping the wings. They will perch on the fence and in the trees most nights

That's what I'm afraid of, not being swift and efficient. Or letting go because he freaks me out
