Emotionally weak - pet ducks

Hello...I have Been following and @Miss Lydia is right. You have a Deficancy and it's not just a Calcium issue..Ducks require a balanced feed a Bit higher in everything than Chickens.
Get the feed recommended and not a layer feed. Supply oyster shell on the side. Almost sounds like iron is not correct also. So a poultry vitamin and mineral mix in water should help her out..
Best wishes..
I'm confused, though I might be missing something from this thread, if she is laying eggs and soft ones at that, why should she not be on a layer feed? Curious....that's all.

As I have been advised by a Vet is that Ducks are not Chickens and require more balanced feed.Plus layer with many breeds of Chicken Hens the feed is not enough..I never use a layer feed..

Layer is fine for ducks but some ducks need more calcium so we put out Oyster shell out then sometimes they may need even more calcium especially heavy egg layers like Pekins Purina Flock Raiser is formulated for all poultry including water fowl here in the states that is the best we can get if we can't get duck specific [water fowl feed] All flock is what I mean not necessarily that brand.
When my Runners and Buffs were laying non stop I had to eventually offer calcium citrate because they got depleted.

It seems USA and Canada have different views on which is the best to feed our flocks good thing there is a lot of feed choices out there.

Yep...A big difference it seams as to proper nutrition.

Are you now saying that those of us who live here and use layer or any type of feed other than water fowl specific are not feeding our water fowl good nutrition? I have geese that are going on 11 yrs old and ducks that are 9 and under all very healthy.
Oh Miss Lydia that can't be further from what I'm saying..I understand the Americans struggle getting Duck specific feed..The closest ones I have seen are very pricy in the US..
