The last of the 9 chicks we bought were 6 weeks old Tuesday and it was time for them to go to coop. They had been living in a cage in the hallway since we bought them. They were going out daily for the last week to the baby pen we have in the yard. I didn't get to hear their sleepy song last night when they went to bed for the night.

I checked on them about 8 last night to see if everyone was doing ok. My little babies when i first got them would fit into the palm of my hands and now their on their own in the coop. My husband sectioned off the coop so the older chickens couldn't bother them. They have a screen door between them so they can still see each other. My husband went out again around 12 last night and checked on them again. He said it was pretty chilly it was down in the 40s last night so he hooked up the heater for them.

I couldn't wait to get up and see them this morning. I counted 9 little heads and they were all happy and running around enjoying all the extra space. I don't think they missed me one bit but I sure missed them. They each got an extra hug on the way to their pen this morning. Knock on wood they stay safe and healthy.
