Emu Egg not Wiggling

Well I started out with two emu eggs (only attempted two this year). One started to weep early on so I threw it out. This second one, I'm on day 39 with. This egg was lost in the mail for a week so I didn't have high expectations for it. I've been checking everyday since day 30 (early I know) for wiggling. I've whistled, tapped on it and rolled it gently. Not the slightest movement can be seen. Also, the air cell side of the egg started pointing upwards when laid flat on a surface. It's the first time I've seen an emu egg lean like that. Does that mean anything? It is a big egg. Losing weight fine and doesn't smell. Last year I saw movement by day 35. This year hasn't been a good year for me with hatching eggs

I know there's much more experienced emu hatchers on here. Does it sound like a dud? Just wait a little longer? I don't like keeping duds in the bator.

the leaning can mean a large air cell.. or a chick in the egg that has not internally pipped (note: I didn't say LIVE chick.. just A chick)..

if you haven't hit day 50 yet.. then keep on waiting. Chances are it's a dud if it hasn't moved at all... but you won't know for sure until you get closer to hatch or it starts to stink

I hatched my first emu egg on Easter Sunday, it hatched the 50th day but it only started wiggiling on day 49! I honestly thought mine was dead, I ws so excited when I finally saw it rocking around.
Hold in there, maybe it's just a shy one ;D

We're on day 41. Still no movement. Whenever I buy shipped eggs, if they are lost in the mail for some time and/or arrive late, those are the ones that are usually scrambled. I bet this one is. My gut says it's a dud. No baby emus this season :/ What a terrible year I've been having! I'll still hold out till day 50 JUST in case.

Yeah, I've been checking every single night for 15 mins straight, staring at this egg. Making noises and tapping on it. I checked again just now and nothing. Very lifeless. I may make a small hole into the air cell sometime around day 50, if I see no movement by then. I have my temp set at 97F. I'd think I'd see at least some movement by now.

Well I checked one last time for movement tonight and nothing. I just knew there wasn't any life to it. So I went ahead and opened it up through the aircell and sure enough, it was all scrambled. No embryo could've developed in that.

Thanks usps for losing it for a week and sending it to wrong locations. And scrambling it in the process. I will definitely, definitely use FedEx or UPS for now on. For every shipped eggs I purchase. I've been having so much better luck with them. I'm sure it still happens. But the post office has just been terrible this year. At least in my case.
