Good lord that alot of eggs. But I see most are bantam that helps alot. Around here large fowl or what sell the most since its farm country. We do have alot of bantam people too. Went to a show this weekend that is known as a bantam show. Not as many as there was 2 years ago. Not many able to sell their bantam chickens either. I was hanging with GF who was selling some of here breeding mixed large stock. Everyone asked about large breeds she had, no one asked about her bantams while I was there. Sign of the times I guess. One can eat large fowl easier than a bantam. When money is tight you grow your own.
I was actually thinking of putting another dozen eggs in my bator. We really need to increase flock. Unfortunaly I have to wait a few days to gather. I only have 4 to 5 laying a day out of the 8 hens. Two are the moms so that means 6 are laying. I will keep todays and tomorrows and put them in also. That way they will be close together in hatch times.
We have 3 chicks now that were hatch by my two broodies. I know I have one pullet and I think one rooster. Have no idea on third as it is still too young. We plan on keeping everything since we need to restock. Extra roos will go to neibors who have mixed flocks. Luckily I have a good outlet for my culls here. Since everyone wants large breed I can sell them to mixed flock owners.
