End of May 26-31 hatchalong update with pics

I am still having 100% with my polish (day 15) but when I finally candled my lavender orpingtons (day 10) I had 1 clear egg and one with a ring & bloodspot stuck to the shell

I also candled my golden seabrights 9/10 and my mille fleurs 6/8 again with clear eggs. What causes that?

Well, temps here outside have dropped so room temp has dropped. But incubator temp is still in the 99 range. I turn on heat to raise room temp to 71 since it was down to 68.

We are a week away now from final countdown. My does time fly. I have nother broody sitting on eggs too. So if most of hers hatch and most of mine hatch I will be OK for Alphas offspring. That should give me enough to pick 2 new roosters and all the hens replaced.

Is this a place for me? I have ONE BO. LOL We have 9 eggs. Using the hen not a bator.

We are due the 30th, give or take a few.

Thanks!

Welcome Capron09 this is for anyone that will have eggs hatching between dates listed.

Well, thing have finally changed here weather wise. It stopped raining and sun is out. I have windows open and heat off. Will be watching bator temps close today since I do not have that rooms window open.

Anyone planning on the egg carton hatching method?

Im not having very good luck with mine. one out of ten might hatch, I don't know what would be the cause though, my temp and humidity are fine theres no drafts, all the eggs are fertile but they just aren't doing right.

Cybercat, Heat off and windows open! LMBO!!!!! we have had the AC pumping for two months now. Just had record breaking highs! My dad is near Sevierville, TN so I now all bouts' your weather!

LOL

Well, we just had a good size storm blew thru. Cut out our power for an hour. Temps went down to 888 area. I put a towel of bator hoping that would help some. Luckily it should be no worse than hen getting off nest to eat and drink.

Count down is real soon too.

Is anyone in count down yet? Getting nervous?

Four days ago I candled and much like chick123600 I had one out of seven that looked like it had developed but I couldn't see any movement. I figured my incubator just wasn't working right still. I left it in anyway. Yesterday the bulb burned out and the temp got down to 81 before I caught it. I was trying to hatch banties for the first time and so today when I found three for sale I snapped them up. Well, at eleven - day 21 on the dot, I went to add water for the night and found I have a pip in my one lone egg! Instead of going to bed I think I will sit up and read so I can keep checking on it.

Congrates.

Tomorrow is lockdown for me. I expect to have a late hatch maybe by a day or two due to temp drops. We shall see.
