Here is a link showing pictures of our chicken mansion, as my husband calls it! http://oakbrookefarm.com/marans.htm
We got our inspiration from the "Wichita Coop" here in the forum. The basic footprint is 5'x10' and the house is approximately 5'x5'. We made the house larger than the Wichita Coop because we have 8 chickens and wanted to be sure they would have plenty of room. There are 4 nest boxes inside, with an access door on the outside. The roof is 6' tall in the front and 5' tall in the back. It took us 4 weeks to build at a cost of a little over 1,000.00. We got lucky at Lowe's as the tongue and groove siding we used was on a close out at 70% off. I got the nifty chicken coop sign on eBay. Also, I did not enter the contest as I did not take any pictures during the construction phase.
