Energy exports ?

Funny when I saw this thread title I thought of ham and beans..... But seriously the government is so messed up even though we should make a profit from it we'd loose money, they would see to it....

If it started making money the government would abandon it.

I have found in my business dealings with the government that for the most part they have book smarts on what they profess to be a specialists in but have no practical experience in their field of expertise. We recently had a "specialist" out to our farm from a goverment agency. This person was very cordial and professional but had no practical knowledge of running a farm and no knowledge of animal husbandry. He patronized us a bit which really was not upsetting but left me wondering if this person was really naive or it was deliberate.

I like the idea of exporting gas if it pays but not letting the government regulate it.

I think they have to do it. At least some what. It would be better if we refined our own oil. Oil jobs in Texas are very high paying jobs and we need those jobs.

We do refine our own oil, but we don't produce enough crude oil for are own use. We have to import about 7.5 million barrels a day just for our use. But we import about 10 million barrels a day so that the refineries stay at maximum capacity and efficiency. The extra refined products are exported.

I prefer the cheap oil. Our economy needs it. I really think we are using the worlds resources and saving ours for last.

LOL Cheap oil is a thing of the past, we used it all. When an oil field becomes cost effective to produce it will be produced. Some people think that the oil in N.Dakota was just recently found. They have known the oil was there for a long time but it wasn't cost effective to produce.

We haven't run out of oil; we just ran out of ideas. It is the industry that has produced the natural gas bonanza, not government. Government always bogs things down with impact statements, permits and hearings. Keep government out of business, and we can get ourselves out of this economic depression.

We need to move out of oil and into natural gas. Let the Arabs sell their oil to the world, and we will save our money and re build our economy.

The naysayers and foot draggers voted for social welfare instead of jobs. Now we just have to work around them.

We are still buying a lot of oil from OPEC everyday. Nearly 4 million barrels a day at $100 a barrel that's $400 million a day.

And that is why we need to convert to natural gas. If we had a national conversion program, we could do it in a year. We need to give oil companies tax incentives to convert their infrastructure and build re fueling stations. Once the stations and distribution system are in place, people will buy the cars or convert their current vehicles.

However, we are hamstrung by those people that hate oil companies and are basically at war with industry and business. They want the good things in life, but they don't want to pay for them. They are so bound up in the fear that someone may have a better economic life than them, they bugger up the system. But yet, they run to Wally World to get the best buy on the cheap Chinese goods.

God help us!
