I love my Kindle. Best part is the free books and that I already used amazon a lot. I enjoy the fact that it is not back lit because it is better on my eyes plus my mom got me the little light attachment to go with it so I can read it in the dark as well. Definitely get the light attachment I is worth it (I used it last when we had a power outage because it was the only light I knew where it was

I have one Ebook on my ipod... i don't know i might finish reading it some day. Although when i get more i well be getting them from the Itunes store for simplicity reasons.

I have to ask is a Kindle "like" reading a book?

It's like reading a book but better. You can search for things, you can highlight things, AND you can carry bookshelves worth of books right in your purse.

This is an older thread, but I'm researching eReaders for a gift for DH. We're not big computer people, so I'm thinking the basic Kindle would work just fine. My worry is - what if, after getting the basic Kindle, he decides he DOES want Internet access? Does it make more sense to go with a better version of the eReader such as the new Kindle Fire, which I "think" you can get Internet access for?

Oh wow...I just checked out amazon for a new book for my Kindle (which I love) and they have a new free Kindle owners lending library!
