Ermine or splash?

I started reading on Ermine and brushed lightly on genetics. I couldn’t help but questions a few I have and have wondered about them since I hatched. When they were a few weeks old they were almost white. Now since getting older they are getting more color. Compared to my splash Cochins they are so light with such dark defined splash. Am I overthinking or just hatching light splash chicks?
