Errr....My basset ate old incubated eggs...=/ advice please?

1 or 2 drops of dish soap on the back of the dog's tongue will induce vomiting. The eggs shouldn't hurt the dog but call the vet to be sure.

Just as a note to the jocularity here (

) unless you get the vomiting started within 10 minutes, it does no good, because it's already started it's way through the digestive system past the stomach. My advice then is the same as everyone's- stay upwind! BUT- I'd sure lock him up overnight with lots of newspapers!

My Lab ate rat poison- the treatment was 10 days on massive doses of Vitamin K. Sounds weird- but rat poison causes internal hemorrhaging, and Vitamin K is the super-duper blood clotter.

BTW, thanks for the reminder! We don't have trash pickup either- I reckon that the unhatched eggs are going to have to hang in a bag fron a hook on the porch roof, like the rest of the trash, until I make a dump run!

GOOD LUCK!

YES! Chris and David were hilarious together! Loved the movies they did...
My cat has those "issues" as well...I swear it's more gross than a dog!

Wowza! Thanks for everyones replies and concern!
I went off to do some chores and I have 33 replies! Thanks everyone for your input, it sounds like he should be fine. He's been acting normal this evening. We have him in our laundry room to keep an eye on him but still confined.
This is my moms dog, while he's cute; I think bassets can be very dumb...lol. He does try to eat anything, fake flowers, sticks, and apparently rotten eggs...nasty

I think I will call the vet in the morning as it's too late now. I had the feeling he'd be fine but wanted to ask my "chicken forum friends"
