I don't consider a bird mine unless I've made the cross and raised it. I showed one bird I purchased and didn't raise, with the breeder's permission, and I won't do it again. I didn't I just wasn't the same as having my own birds in the show.
I think it's ok for Juniors to show purchased birds if:
1) they are doing the work
2) they have the breeders permission to show the birds
3) they tell those who ask the true origins of the birds
I would rather see adults show birds that they have bred and raised, but I can't condemn it because I did it.
