Yup - recessive white hen to non recessive white cock will get you 100% colored chicks with a hidden rw gene.

rw hen to hidden rw cock will net 50/50 colored and white chicks. Test hatching with her could be the key to eliminating the hidden rw from your flock if you so desired.

Murphy's Law, when I looked at them yesterday they are getting some red/fawn tint at the wing coverts. Regardless, just a matter of time waiting for type to develope. No blue legs though, if they have yellow legs they are very light, it's been a few years since we got white legged chicks so I don't remember what they looked like.

I hatched 13 chicks from the skyline Basque. There were no sticky chicks, curly toes or other health problems. fertility and hatchability were both good too! Very healthy chicks.

The Basque hatched first along with some OEs. The hatch also had White Emps and Crele Penedesencas:

Crele Penedesencas are really something! It is so cool to know which are boys and which are girls at hatch.

The Basque chicks were sleeping in the feed and jumping up onto the ecoglow top the first day! Most chicks do not get up there until 6 days or so. Very amazing how healthy they are.

Well they are beautiful birds the Penny's and I love the Crele. I had Partridge Penny's a few years ago and loved them. A friend was really interested in them so I re-homed them to her. My one EO rooster has the same strut and build as my old Penny rooster.

Sadly I want to trade him for another roo like him. I don't want to breed him to his sisters.

Hi all! We've been having health issues over here and this is the first time I've been on in a week! How is everyone?

The chicks are almost 4 weeks old now. We definitely have 4 basque boys and 7 basque girls! The Pita Pintas we're not too sure about. I think we have 5 boys and 5 girls. Eek! I took some pictures of them today. Their feathers are coming in like crazy!
