Evaluate: R-Com 3-Egg Mini Incubator

No, I have not hatched anything out of the R-Com, the three egg one, the one this topic is about. The only thing I had was one pip the shell and I had to help it out as it was and it still didn't make it. I used it for a whole year and nothing. My friend the next town over had the same problems and she gave it to our chicken club for its raffle. Hopefully whoever got it had better luck. Mine is destined to go somewhere as well. It was a complete waste of money for me, obviously others had better luck than us. Maybe its because our humidity in this part of the country is so low, but, it should not have mattered any. Its a good concept, but not for me. Maybe the larger one is better, I do not know. I just stick to my Lyons now, as they hatch anything I stick in it.

I bought my dad an R-Com 3 egger for Christmas. We got 6 (very early) quail eggs and had 1 of 6 hatch, but the other 5 were infertile and developed none. Now there are 6 Serama eggs in it and other than needing to hand turn the ones not on the turners, it seems to be going well. I am candling them on Wednesday to see if they are developing. For someone like dad who just wants to add a few to the flock at a time it is ideal. Quality is good and it is pretty easy to use.

I have an rcom mini and have been so impressed that i am seriously considering buying the super duper expensive rcom 20 pro which u can control humidity turing and temp with, i would advise u to just get the bigger and better rcom 20 pro as i feel u wil get addicted and buy it eventually anyways :) also i live in the counrtyside in ireland with plenty of space for my chickens and goats so it would be perfect for me

Who actually has one of these and how do they hold?
Are they good quality?
Do they do the trick or are they pieces of junk?

I hear this is a good little incubator. However, the Brinsea Mini Advance will incubate 7 eggs for about the same price.

Is also digital. I have 2 of them and they are just great little machines! Look for them on sale, or a coupon on the Net.
I know Marans of America Club memebers get a 10% discount on Brinsea with their memeber number, if that helps.
You don't need to get the EX model. This is a small incubator and doesn't need a humidity pump.
