Ever chased a hawk while wearing a dress?

No, but does chasing a dog in a dress count?

Years ago I had a HUGE Husky, and she was notorious for bolting and running when she got the chance. She thought it was a wonderful game, and would easily outrun me. When this happened at home, I would have to give up and wait for her to come back. Well one time this happened at a very busy Walmart. I was in an ankle length white dress, and had a friend with me. My friend went to grab a bag of soil from their parking lot that we had just purchased, and left the van door open so he could load the bag of soil. Just as I realized he had left the door open, Pepper jumped out and began running across the huge parking lot. This particular Walmart was RIGHT next to the highway, so I was absolutely petrified. I began chasing her in the pouring rain, in my full length white dress. She thought this was an excellent game, but I didn't dare not chase her, because I was so afraid she would run out onto the highway, so I tried to chase her in a way to steer her inward toward the lot and away from the highway.

At one point she stopped to drink from a big puddle. I made a dive to grab he caller, missed her and landed face down in the puddle. I kept on, eventually slowing to a walk and almost crying from the fear of her getting hit. It was amazing how many people drove right by me, slowing down to watch the show, and then continued on. Some didn't even slow down. One guy drove by in a truck, slowed down, checked out what was going on and then kept on. A few minutes later he came back. My HERO of the day, he had the BRILLIANT thought to go into the Walmart, where there was a McDonald's, bought a cheeseburger and came back out. He simply got out of his truck, knelt down and held out the cheeseburger patiently. Her sense of smell must have been amazing, because she quickly realized what he had and started approaching cautiously. He sat there patiently.

After several minutes, she finally approached, sniffed it and he petted her but made no attempt to grab her. I stood there, soaking wet in my white dress, staring and thinking "grab her! grab her!", but instead he just patted her and let her eat the entire burger from his hand. Only when she finished it did he very casually take her collar and led her over to me. I hugged him and was SO THANKFUL. At that time Pepper wasn't yet trained, and she absolutely would have run into the highway.

Hope I didn't get too off track from your hawk story, but as soon as I read it I thought of that story.

No, I did play in a coed softball game once, where us guys wore dresses & the gals dressed as guys. Not a pretty sight to see a 6 ft. 2" 300 lbs. guy in a dress. You probably now need the jaws of life to get that thought out of your head

No..but i went after a mink in my nightie and hubbys winter boots..

I had a terrible time with Ospreys fishing the large goldfish out of my pond. One summer day I had just walked out of the shower and past the sliding glass door that overlooks the pond.....just in time to see an osprey with one of my precious fish in his talons, flying away. I grabbed the rifle (conveniently located by the door) and rushed out to shoot at him. Believe me, he was in no danger of being hit. About that time I heard my sliding door close behind me with a "click"of the lock. My husband (now EX Husband) had closed and locked me out......stark naked except for a skinny little rifle that I could not hide behind. I was standing on the deck, overlooking the river only 30 ft away and wondering how long before a boater came by. The worst part was hearing my prankster hubby laughing hysterically. I threatened him with some serious stuff to let me in. He made me hand him the rifle through the crack in the door before opening it wide enough for me to enter. I walked by him and smiled sweetly as I said, "just remember, dear, you have to sleep sometime!"

That certainly put a damper on my impulsiveness.

I have not personally done that one. I have, however, chased a stray dog that was after my horses in the middle of the night with pj's and boots on. Some things there should never be pictures.

Yes, I have! Last summer as a matter of fact. Did not think to much of it though, as I do everything in dress, LOL!

Oh man this topic is BRILLIANT!

I've had to chase my spazzy shoot out the door dog down the road... got some interesting looks when I was sporting my pink (thank you MIL) fleece pants with my plaid fleece robe and my lilac slipper boots... and taking time to throw on my A&M hat because I was not having a good hair day and didn't want to scare the children... and Mattie grinning like a fool... oh yeah, she knew just what she was doing... devil dog.

Chased a Cooper's hawk flying off with one of my Birmingham rollers- bare foot wearing undershorts into my neighbor's flower bed.

Hawk dropped the pigeon. I snatched it up and scurried home.
