Hmmm .. reader's digest version.

FIL has vascular disease (smoked for years)

He's had stent's in his legs .. a multiple vessel heart bypass .. and a couple months ago a failed arterial bypass in his left leg that had to be repeated ..

Now the right leg is blocked and physician is talking about trying to do a stent .. then going for bypass if that fails.

Hospital where I work SPECIALIZES in minimally invasive treatment of peripheral vascular disease .. I talked to a doc today about looking at his records just to get a second set of eyes on it and see what he thinks..

In the meantime, FILs bossy-donkey girlfriend - come to find out - has been freaking out over a medication that he is on because it "killed her mother" .. so she is trying to convince him to quit taking it .. and DID convince him to cut the dose in half last week .. then she got mad when the dr's office chewed her out, telling her that SHE isn't a doctor and shouldn't be altering his meds ..

Now she acts like the doctor is trying to KILL my FIL .. and she's being stupid.

Poor FIL .. he's dealing with trying to save his legs .. and has this yap yap yapper in his face..

I wish he'd come up here so we could take care of him and send her yappin donkey home...

You know .. it's stressful enough without all the drama of her acting like she knows-it-all .. I could just slap her.

Now she's drawing up POAs because she's convinced they are killing him .. of course OUR name is going on the POA ..

I did a quick Mapquest search and realized I couldn't make it there and back without missing my meeting. (it is 14 hrs 1 min from here). Perhaps just a phone call or brief e-mail to scare her a little for now? I might have time this weekend...
