Whew ladies! I'm going to be ready to REST later this afternoon.
So far in the last two hours I have:
Drained the mucky water from the pool, refilled it with a bit of fresh water (needs a hundred or so gallons), installed a pond deicer to keep the drain from freezing (we hope), blew out the water lines & put in pool antifreeze.
Pulled all the stuff from the front 1/2 of the shed -- my son apparently thought that when I sent stuff out there it meant HEAVE it in anywhere he could. It's now properly put away so that we can get to the firewood in the BACK half of the shed. I guess he'd planned on taking all the crap out of the front every time he was sent after wood. UGH.
Enough firewood for 3 or 4 evenings worth of fires has been hauled in.
Sorted out lumber for a project & hauled it up to the house. Not sure I have enough.
Gathered stray yard items to put away for winter...
Winterized the lawn mower
TRIED to winterize the tiller, but couldn't get it to start. Pulled it up under the patio to deal with later.
Oh, and the lovely teenager showed up when I was almost done with all that. 90 minutes before he had drug himself out of bed & was eating a bowl of cereal. Told him that as SOON as he finished that bowl of cereal I needed his help. Apparently it took 90 minutes to eat...I was about to go in & tell him he'd better have come down with a nasty case of amoebic dysentery or something to be delayed that long. I'm still pretty unhappy about it.
Still on the list:
Fix the plastic poolside shed (where chemicals get stored). The dang thing has popped apart. Not sure how to fix it yet...hopefully it won't be hard
clean off the patio & tidy what remains there
Add a bit more water to the pool then drain the hose & put it away
drain the water taps outside & winterize those
MAYBE drain the garage bathroom. I can probably get by with a couple more weeks for that. (I will hold off as long as I can safely. I'll watch the weather.)
Haul brush pile aside to use as kindling after it dries
Then, if any energy remains, dig in garden a bit...I have quail bedding & rabbit litter that needs to be dug into the ground so that my bins are empty.
