I'm awake. I was just downstairs checking my birds & bunny and turning their lights off for the night. The girls in the garage get their dim lights a little longer. Dr. appointment tomorrow, oh joy. Of course, now that the fever is gone I can go to the doctor. Ah well, since I have to go anyway (24 hours required to cancel) I might as well get an RX or two that I need. Have to go to the feed store, too, but I guess I need to get some cash first, since they won't get with the modern world and take plastic. (That means I have to go to the grocery store first, ROFL, buy something, and get cash so I don't have to pay an atm fee...)

Good Morning! Finally got caught up. It is snowing. Des and I came in early this morning to answer numerous calls like "are we having school today?"

We have been lucky this is the first time this winter we have had to do it, but it still frustrates me. Listen to your darned radio, will ya?? Just for fun we kept a running tally to see what school was called about most. It was pretty close between our school and the college. We would even try to guess before we answered. Gotta entertain ourselves somehow that early in the morning!

Robin I don't blame you for the rant! It was certainly nice of you to do that for your friend though. I pride myself on my entertaining abilities and hate it when someone else makes me look unprepared!

I was awake about 4:15 and it didn't look bad out. They were starting to cancel schools in the KC area, but I thought we were okay and fell back asleep about 5:15. Boss called at 5:40 for help. So, we hopped in the truck for its first test in the snow and made it to town. It was slow and Des had to keep telling me which way I needed to get over because the roads were so snow covered, but we made it. Colton just called. He is already bored.

Oh, you mean that powdery white stuff I saw one time while I was on vacation in GA with DH? (yes, I made snow angels like a little kid!

DH was quite amused at me since he grew up in OH).

Had a fun day Saturday. Went to visit my 2 baby Nigerian bucklings that I'll be getting once they wean and the doe I'm getting from the same lady. She took me to another Nigerian breeder's house and I ended up buying 2 more does!

They're both really nice, bred to kid at the end of March, and 1 already has her Jr Championship.

I can't wait to bring them home!!!

Speaking of babies, my STUPID turkeys decided to hatch poults while it's freezing. 3 of them have been co-brooding and they started hatching this weekend. Yesterday morning (as I was already running late for work) I found one poult almost frozen to death b/c he got away from mom, plus the hens had left the nest and other eggs were still trying to hatch. So there I was, running late for work, and scrambling to get the bator plugged in and everyone moved. Now up to 5 poults with the mamas and 3 in the bator. Not sure what I'm going to do with them...my baby pens are outside b/c I usually don't hatch in the winter, but it's a little too cold at night I think, even with the heat lamp. Stupid turkeys.

Wyatt started sitting up by himself yesterday! You have to sit him up and he props himself up on his hands while leaning forward. Still a little wobbly, but he's getting there! Also had his first taste of venison last night.
