Thanks Dude! I will!

While I am thinking about it and you all are so good with recipes, Does anyone have a good easy dip recipe or something as finger foods? I need to take something to our work Christmas party in a few weeks and want to try something different.

Her's a recipe for a sweet dip to be used with Granny Smith Apples...equal parts peanut butter & Sioux Bee honey and then you add in raisins...it is awesome! We used it in a Sioux Honey Recipe book - years ago. I work for their Ad Agency...the recipe is still a favorite here today. It is totally great! You can use a little lemon water wash on the apples to keep them from turning brown. Your co-workers will love it! Have a fun Christmas party!

That sounds good too. I will write that down too. Thanks!

Wow gang, you have some weather going on there. I really enjoy it if I dont' have to get out and can snuggle up inside and just hang out. We are cold here but no snow yet. If you are getting it in the midwest, it will prob. be here in a couple days.

No no Michelle, didn't mean that!

Good Morning! We have a few inches of snow already, still coming down, supposed to pick up later and still expecting around 10 inches. Started my morning at 4:40am after waking up half a dozen times to check out the window to actually see snow. Hubby's phone rang a few minutes later to get him going with the snow plow, so Hubby brought Destiny and I to work at 5:30am and we steadily answered the phones for 3 hours until the regular phone person showed up. We had the privilege of talking to pretty much every school in the area for cancellations and they ran us ragged trying to get them on both stations. We probably got at least 3 dozen calls or more about the college, "Have you heard if NCMC has canceled classes?" I have to be nice and say "We have announced GED classes have been canceled, but as far as we know the rest of the campus is open." I want to say "Yes, I have heard they are having classes because I listen to my radio!!" Instead of answering the phones like I am supposed to "Good Morning, KTTN, This is Michelle, May I help you?" I was so tempted to say "Good Morning, KTTN, this is Michelle, Yes, you need to get your butt to finals, Is there anything else I can help you with?" I also had the sidewalks shoveled off before everyone else got here this morning. I am fairly certain I will sleep well tonight and be back at it early tomorrow morning!

Michelle I was wondering about you first thing this morning. I am glad you got to work safe and sound. Say Hi to Destiny for me too! I can imagine after the 15th phone call you wanted to tell them to go to class! I hope your day slows down. Can you make some hot chocolate and pretend you are at home in your snuggie on the couch with your feet up.

We have 24 below 0 right now. Hubby is home and there is something wrong with the antenna so we have no TV. For some reason he just doesn't want to go out in the sub zero weather to see what is wrong with it!!

Have you decided on a dip yet? One of my sons favorites (and the only way ti get him to eat spinach
bun.gif
) is the spinach dip in a bread bowl. First you can buy a round loaf and hollow out the center. Cut the part you took out into cubes. Thaw and drain, then squish the water out of a small box of spinach. Mix 1 cup of sour cream and 1 cup of mayo with 1 package of Ranch dressing mix then add spinach. Spoon that into your bread bowl, place it on tray with bread cubes and toothpicks. You can add onions or waterchessnuts to the dip too.

How is Thunder this morning? Has he loved up to hubby to save his "bacon"!!

Charmed did you get any of Michelles weather? Is Eddie in your bed again this morning? I have a sore throat, headache, blah, blah, blahs this morning. I hoe to find the motivation to get done what I need to today! I really need to get the rest of Raymond and Hubbys gifts ordered!

Dang Michelle! That radio station better appreciate you! I got up early this morning too. I just couldn't sleep. No snow for me yet. It got wet as I got closer to Harrisonville and alittle sleet but nothing at home. I think we are going to be on the edge of this storm. It is very cold though. I have to go home early today and fill all the water troughs up. The ponds are getting close to froze up. How's Thunder doing? Has he settled down? I hope so.

Hi Jazzyfizzle! Glad you're getting eggs! What is the temp where you're at?

Chickenchick..You still got power up there? Have you baked your zucchini bread yet? I am trying my hand at cinnamon applesauce with red hots. My SIL makes it and my dad loves it. I found a recipe on the internet I am going to try. I hope it turns out! I also have 5 very ripe bananas I am going to make bread out of today. Do you have a good banana bread recipe you'd like to share? It will be a baking day for me!

NY....Where are you??

Morning Charmed

Power!! Yea! We have it for now......

The zucchini bread was awesome! Thank you so much for that recipe. Here is the B Bread recipe I have always used. It is was my Moms. She always told me the secret to super moist banana bread is to throw your bananas in the freezer when they go bad. Then a few hours before you are going to bake set them on the counter. When they thaw you can snip the end of with scissors and squeeze the "guts" out into the bowl!

This is what I do, works great and I always get asked how I keep my bread from turning out dry.

Cream together-
1 cup shortening or margarine( when doing a double batch I use half marg and half butter flavor Crisco)
2 cups sugar
2 eggs

Add
2 tsp vanilla
4 large bananas
1 tsp baking soda, dissolved in
6 Tbsp milk

Mix in
4 cups flour
2 tsp b. powder
1 tsp salt

Bake at 350 for 55 minutes

Have a great baking day!
