HAHA--creepers!!! That angel and bell ringing have never stopped ringing in my head-I honestly think about that everytime the holiday season rolls in!!! Id be digging holes to look for soldier bones! and antique uniforms and buttons:) Id drive wherever if The mood hits me and under the right circumstances Id drive a long way-I may not like it very much because Im lost half the time but most of the time its worth the trips:)

Funny you should say that...I have really thought about it but I don't want to desecrate a grave and be haunted the rest of my life!! I have a metal detector that I have ran around the yard. We found some old nails and pieces for an old wagon. I was really looking for buried treasure. I figured if there was a soldier buried here, maybe there was some treasure buried here too!!

I don't think you have posted that yet, what a sweet pic!

The pizza was wonderful! I got the small crusts (already made of course) and we all picked our toppings. We had hamburger, pepperoni, shrimp, onion and mushrooms. Thunder liked what we didn't finish!

The Saturdays are really fun! I will probably sneak away a little to get on here, but we are usually on the go the whole time. Destiny works too. She actually starts at 8 and answers birthday show phones and the auction doesn't start until around 8:30 or so, but we have to set up the studio. Then Carol and I are the primary answerers and Destiny fills in when we need a break or it gets hectic or something.

You could have texted. I finally finished my puzzle last night and Destiny and I started a new one. Usually she won't help me because she has never been very good at that kind of stuff, but we had fun last night with it. She gets frustrated too easily. She has always been my brainy book child and Colton was my hands on, puzzle loving kid!

I am going to try to catch up. Again. Destiny had to record someone, so I had to go run the station for a minute. I got Derry Brownfield on without dead air!

I am going to comment on the goat thing first of course. I didn't have a place at all for Bella when I brought her home. She slept in a pet taxi for a while until she graduated to the bigger wire dog cage. Kept her either in the garage or house depending on the weather. When I brought Bailey home a few months later, hubby finally got busy and built their pen and manger for my Mother's Day gift. Why do I have a feeling your hubby isn't going to like me very well for being an enabler?

I am very interested in genealogy. I think I told you guys about the cemetery we cleaned up not far from our house. We did research on each and every person there and connected them all in some way. I think I would be trying to find out exactly where it is and before it was over, I would probably find out everything about Mr. George Bailey that I could! I am weird like that! (I know, not a surprise!) And just saying the marker could be underground by now. We have a civil war soldier in the cemetery and we used rods to punch the ground to locate him. It was far enough down we couldn't see it, but once we did, we just peeled the dirt and grass back. We found several like that.

I slept really late today, oops. I need to go take care of all my animals then I'll be back in to catch up on what's been going on today. Hope everyone is having a great day and see y'all in about a half hour

Michelle...could you take a picture of your goat pen for me? I would like to see what you've done. Also, I am into genealogy too! I have my family pretty well researched. I started doing my DH's....

His mother is Italian and her mother and father came from Italy on the boat. His father is another story..I have found his parents but that is where it ends! Have you ever been on ancestry.com?

I will try to get a good pic of the pen. But we just used welded wire and t-posts. As the girls are getting bigger, we realize that we may need to go to something stronger like panels or put in more posts. They like to put their feet up as far as they can and bend the fencing down. Easy access to jump out when they feel like it. It doesn't happen real often and they don't go too far, just to the big tree in the front yard on the other side of the pen, but I think when it warms up, they will probably push their luck a little further. For their building, we just used boards around the house and made what I call their manger. It is just 3 sided and facing south for the winter to block out some of the wind. They have done great with it so far. We also put some old stumps and different things for them to climb on for entertainment. You just have to remember to put them toward the middle and not the edge so they can use it as a take off to escape!

My mom has most of her family tracked. My dad left when I was 5, so I really haven't felt the urge to research that side. My sister does tell me my grandmother (or could have been great, but I think just grand) was off the boat German. I also think I vaguely remember some Indian, but could be wrong on that. Mom's side is from England. We are distantly related to Andrew Johnson. It has taken many, many years and collaboration to figure her family out with common last names like Johnson and May and of course a wife dies, he remarries and has a new branch of children, etc, typical stuff you run into. We have a really neat family tree someone has handed down that helps too. Hubby has an uncle who is really big into their side of the family, but I haven't looked at that stuff in a long time. It is all very interesting to me!

My boss (and neighbor) and his wife found 2 stones in their way back yard a few years ago and called me over to investigate. There used to be a barn that had stones as foundation that burned several years ago and we think they were eventually used to just hold the barn up because they were just laying there in a strange position. Man and woman on one and a man's name on the other. Upon checking into it, the man and woman are actually listed to be buried in a nearby cemetery and sure enough, they have another marker there. The single man I didn't find much info on him at all and couldn't connect him to our area. They just left the stones where they found them.

I love the geniology stuff. I did go on that ancestry site a few times but I always run into brick walls because my randfather was an identical twin who was adopted with his twin. Thats where that side ends-Irish...On my mothers side it goes back to Italian off the boat-havent looked much further than that...
