I just got back from the CVS pharmacy minute clinic. Riki has strep throat. Got meds for her and she is going to stay a few more days so I can take care of her! As for Harry...He actually tried to take a piece of watermelon from me this morning! His first sign of interest in food since he got hurt!!! I was sooo excited! I bought his some Pedialite at CVS to help him along. My bird friend is going to bring out an outdoor cage for him this weekend so he can sun himself some. Things are looking up! I just hope he starts eating on his own soon. I think having one eye is messing with his depth perception. He is not sure where the food is. Anyway, he has some watered down mush and corn water and watermelon water and 2 pieces of watermelon this morning! We'll keep plugging along until he gets better.

Oh Charmed I am so happy to hear the good news on Harry! I am sure given a little practise he will adjust to having one eye and be able to eat and get around just fine. The eye is gone. right? Or did I remember that wrong?

Poor Riki strep throat sucks! Bonus that you get to "mommy" her a few extra days though

Ha...Ha... As a matter of fact, I did. The Dr was talking about taking her puppy to the vet and I mentioned I had a peacock in my spare room! And No....she has never treated a peacock! Oh well.....you just never know who you will run into that has info you need. I always keep my options open and my lips a-flappin'!!

the sun is gone and the clouds are moving in. We have a small system going past us today and then another system passing us on the weekend. Little bit of rain for us but hell for those in whose direction it goes from here.

Hilda my all time faithful egg layer, the one who started laying first did not lay today. I didn't mind so much because she had been laying non stop while the other girls took breaks.

Has anyone here bought a chicken sketch from HorseFeathers? She has that cute story of Fatima. I am so considering sending her a picture of my faithful matilda and seeing what she can do with her artistic talent.
