I have no problems with a shock collar when it is used correctly, like you did. We actually have one. Kenny had it for a dog he had way before we got together. That just may be the plan to keep Rocky away from the guineas. Thanks for the idea.
Rir it was nice to see you!! Sorry I missed you though.
We were really busy outside yesterday and my son has 2 friends out for the whole weekend. Both nights they have enjoyed a bonfire in the yard. Kenny BBQd for all of us last night. Steak, burgers and hot dogs. As soon as those boys get up we will feed them Biscuits and Gravy then we will head in to town to spend the day with my inlaws.
I hope you are all having a great weekend and Michelle I hope you AND your family are all feeling better.
I wanted to tell you guys, when I started letting my chickens out to roam, Eddie wanted to chase them. We put a shock collar on him. My DH would say "No Birds Eddie" and sound the little beep. When he kept after the birds, he got a jolt. One time was all it took! He doesn't even look at them now! And if they are squawking or something and get his attention, all we have to say it NO BIRDS EDDIE and he comes to his senses fast! Some people may not like shock collars but used like we did, it was a wonderful training tool.
Please...no shock collar denouncers.... hide
I got a bark collar for a lab and it didn't seem to be working so I put it up to my throat and barked. I promised there and then to never bark again!! (the lab's undercoat prevented the contacts from contacting).
Good Monday Morning! It is still rainy and we are in for another cool week. We are flooding in a few areas up here for all the rain over the weekend. I took some pics as Colton drove us around yesterday to look.
RIR--Good to see you!!
Moabite--Welcome to our group!
I took it easy Friday night and Saturday morning and watched the draft until it was time to get dressed and go to our self defense course. It was a lot of fun! They had drawings for prizes and Destiny won a can of mace to carry in her purse. I got a t-shirt. Afterwards, I brought her home so she could babysit and sis and I headed for the casino. It didn't take me long to blow $40 on penny slots! She won a little, so she cashed in and gave me a $20 and she sat down with one. Her streak was apparently over, but I couldn't blow mine! We finally cashed me out at $17 so we could stop and get something to eat and drink for the way home. I crawled in bed at 2:20 am!! I hadn't done that for a while and it was great! I, of course, slept in yesterday. Way longer than I should have!
So, I didn't get pics of the kittens this weekend.
Let me explain. While I was gone Saturday, Mama's daughter June crawled in the box with her and gave birth for the first time. To one kitten. I will give you one guess as to what color it is! Anyway, apparently they are going to joint nurse and raise the four of them and I figured it was best to leave them alone for the first day or two. The three older ones are starting to open their eyes. We named them Ndamukong Suh, Spoon and MJ. We haven't named the new one yet. It is soo cute to see them all together.

How sweet! You are forgiven for not taking pics
Do we get to see the flood pics? We were supposed to get rain over the weekend but all we got was a bunch of wind.
It sounds like you enjoyed your SD class. Now you can warn hubby if he starts getting on your nerves!!
My MIL loves the casino! Her and her 88 year old mother go all the time. They are a hoot! Thats the 2 that Raymond loves to play cards with. I stayed up until 10:30 on Saturday night! That almost never happens! When we camp it happens a little more often but Raymond's friend were out and we were all visiting. We had dinner at my MIL last night. We had BBQ ribs, baked potatoes , corn on the cob and watermelon. It was all so tasty except the watermelon. I am deathly allergic to it so Kenny and Raymond are always teasing me to have some
I just heard this on the news. As you all know I am a 80s music lover
I graduated in 1988 when Poison, Cinderella, Bon Jovi, Guns and Roses and so many more were at their peak. The front man of Poison( Brett Michael's) is in critical condition. He suffered a brain hemorrhage last thursday. Two weeks ago he had an emergency appendectomy. He suffers from high blood pressure and is a diabetic. He was complaining of severe headaches and ended up in the hospital. The hospital stated that he is not stable. The editor of his blog stated that Brett has admitted on his blog lately that he felt he may need to slow down on his partying as he felt it may be talking a toll on his health!
Duh! Ya think! He is 47. I sincerely hope he recovers and uses this as a wake up call. He has 2 young daughters.
We finally had our bbq ribs last night too! The kids and I took off to drive around for a while and hubby was taking a nap. He finally text to see where we were at and we all told him a different story, so he sent us pics of the ribs on the grill. We made it back home in a hurry! I fixed baked beans and cheesy potatoes since I didn't have much time to fix anything else. I will post some pics in a bit. The Thompson River isn't quite out yet, but it is bank high. There is also a route that is just south of us usually floods, when we went by there were no signs, but we took the gravel road out of town and to Route A and at the end of the gravel there were two trucks ahead of us. We got up to where they were, the first one had just gone through water over the road and we watched the second one. It was almost up to his door at one point. We could also see the first one going through water on Route A. We were in the Ranger, but decided if the full sized boys had problems that we would turn around. That is when we started pic taking. On the way home that road was still not posted closed and it was getting dark. It really bothered me to think someone might drive through there and not know there was water over the road.
I don't go to the casino often, but I do enjoy it. I am not a big spender either, so it usually doesn't take me long to be ready to quit. My Mom loves it too! Remember she is the one who won $1500 last summer when we went together. Made my $13 look like peanuts! We have to drive at least an hour and a half to get to a casino, so it doesn't happen very often. It rained and blew all the way home, so it took us a little longer to get back.
Friday night I had Destiny sneak June in the house so she could cuddle up and watch the draft with me. She sat for a while then started wandering through the house. I didn't think she was due yet, but I kept giving Des a hard time, telling her to open my closet and her door so she could pick a spot. Hubby came in while she was in our bedroom and I know he would have kicked her out, so I sat up really quick to get her and he came in before I could. She had just been meowing. He looked at me and asked what my problem was. I look down the hallway and she is coming closer. I finally blurted out "I thought you two needed to go to town. Now get on out of here, we are trying to listen to the TV!" He and Colton leave and as the door shuts, she jumps right into my lap!
I didn't think she was due yet, but while I was at the casino Des left me a message telling me she thought my cat was in labor. When I got home she was looking up at me with her mommy and showed me her one little baby! One of them stays in the box at all times while the other gets out to stretch, eat or whatever.

Poison is my absolute favorite 80s group! My yellow lab is named CeeCee after CeeCee Deville! I had read an article about that Friday night. Saturday my sis and I were talking about it, but I couldn't find an update on my phone to see if anything has changed. I am afraid no news is not good news, but I hope he does recover! I still have on my bucket list to see them in concert!

One more thing we have in common! I would LOVE to see them in concert too. Lets go together! CeeCee! Thats great! That is all the news said this morning. They gave a long name for the type of hemorrhage, it is a type of stroke. His speech is slurred and his vision is blurry. Of course they hope this is temp but he is not yet considered in stable condition.
Your supper sounds like it was wonderful! That sounds like something I would do with the cat too. Only I usually get busted

I usually get busted too and had she had it in the house, I would have! But I wanted her in so I could sneak her a can of cat food without the others bothering her. I do that for momma too. I guess they will have to take turns coming in now. With Thunder inside, there is no way they can have the babies inside also. He thinks they are new little squeaky toys! If Des brings one in, as long as it is quiet he doesn't pay attention, but as soon as it cries, he is right there trying to check it out!
I have always wanted to go to one of there concerts, but never much opportunity or anyone else to share my passion in going. I think Destiny would now enjoy them since she is a converted 80s girl. We will wait until he recovers and then find one between here and your place and meet up if we have to! When our friend's dog had her puppies I instantly fell in love with them and hubby kept telling me no. We went several times to see them because Jason was getting one. I finally jokingly picked one out (she was one of the smallest out of like 11) and the song "Nothing But A Good Time" was playing so I said that is what we can name her! CeeCee! I ended up bringing her home, he couldn't resist!
I am glad you had a good weekend. Sounds like Raymond had fun with his friends! Has he got to hang out with Nathan again?
