Ever feel lonely when you dont have any PM's waiting for you?

Morning everyone!

NY It just doesn't seem like my "baby" should be in HS!! It does help to know I am not the only one that feels this way. DS is an only child. Does anyone here only have one?

I have a friend that has 2 daughters, one is graduated and the other is a junior. I see what she is going through and has gone through and I am grateful mine is a boy. Like charmed one said, you only have to worry about your son, not everyone else's!!

Michelle
I like your idea of painting the floor and using rugs. What did hubby say? I agree with painting them a dark color, that would look very sharp! That was my plan then we found these carpet tiles from Home Depot, they work great.

Charmed
hey thanks for worrying about me! Sometimes I tend to get lost, I think I need a trail of chocolate chip cookies to find my way back!

DH and I went to dinner at a new steak house last night. Our little town now has 4 restaurants!! It was actually very good. The atmosphere needs a little work, but the food and prices were great. We enjoyed it, and it took my mind of of DS being at his boy/girl party! He stayed in town at a friends house, so I still haven't heard how it went. I will spill the beans to you as soon as I have the juicy details!!

We did agree to paint the floors (brown) and look for some rugs. As cheap as it is, we decided to do that for now and if we don't like it, we can later put down whatever else we decide on. Right now, I am so worn out from making decisions that I just want to scream! I just want it done!!

I did some figuring on football. Between Friday night varsity games and Monday night junior varsity, just regular season, we will travel over 1800 miles. It is actually a lower number than most years, but averages over 180 miles per week. If we go to the playoffs, it will go way higher. The good news is that we live for football and are always ready to travel to see a game! My parents even go to them, even in the rain and snow! They are such troopers!

So, when does school start for your children? The wonderful/worse thing about having a girl is that you get to hear all about high school. Who is dating who, what so and so said, etc. With a boy it usually goes like this "how was school today?" "fine". I am so much more out of the loop since Destiny graduated. She used to chatter my ear off about everything. Colton MIGHT tell me the bare minimum that I need to know and that is it.

Oh Michelle you aren't kidding! I swear , FINE and I DUNNO are the only answers in my sons vocabulary all of a sudden!!

School starts wed the 26th here. I just can't believe how fast the summer went! Our weather has been fairly cool until now! We are expecting upper 90s through the weekend.

Yep, it is even harder to deal with after you've had a girl, because you know you are missing out on something! And the summer, I didn't even have much of a chance to enjoy it. We haven't had the really hot weather either. Seems like fall weather already lately. Makes me wonder about winter.

Geez, everyone is so busy anymore that we never get to talk! I have actually been lurking today and have posted! I'm coming out of my shell! I have Skype now and have been talking to my DD. She is going to YWAM (Youth With A Mission) in Denver next month and we are going to keep in touch this way. It's not NCIS cool but pretty close!

I am doing pretty good, especially since it hit me on the way to work (as I was running late) that it is Friday! Seems like the time just goes faster and faster! I am pretty excited about our first football game tomorrow even though it is just a jamboree. Destiny and I are going to go out today and buy new bulldog t-shirts for the season and Colton gets his football pics taken today.

That sounds like fun! I need to get a team shirt too! We are the Conrad Cowboys. Our first game is Sept 4th but it is an away game. The next is Sept 11th and DH happens to be off so we will all get to go. DS is the manager but he is very much a part o f the team and they treat him as such.

I can't believe it is Friday all ready, this week flew by. DH works tomorrow and DS has a scrimmage. Sunday I have to deliver a rooster and 2 hens to someone. Also we have a BBQ to attend in town. Monday DH has a trip planned with his Dad to go pick up the boat. It has been at the "hospital" all summer.

They can't seem to find what is wrong with it and the mechanic is 3 hours away.

DS and I both have hair appts on Monday or we would go with. Oh well, him and his Dad haven't had much time together lately.

We already have quite a bit of team apparel, but never hurts to have more! We are the Trenton Bulldogs, black and gold. We travel to all games, home and away even though Colton hasn't played in a varsity Friday night game yet. He usually starts on junior varsity. 1800+ miles, but Des and I record cds to listen to to get us pumped for the games! Our station also covers all games on the radio and there is nothing like buzzing around on a Friday afternoon getting ready for a game! I am a total geek who lives for football, high school, college or pro! We also cover my hometown about 30 miles away and MU Tigers.

Sounds like you have a busy weekend ahead of you! Like I said, football tomorrow evening, so maybe I can make some progress on bedroom tonight and in the morning. I promised to take Colton and Luke back to the state fair to see the demolition derby, but not sure if they still want to go since Luke has his cast now. I am secretly hoping they change their minds, but if not, I will happily take them!

Happy Friday! I see ya'll are getting ready for football season. The weather here today sure feels like football weather. Sunny, cool and 78. Couldn't ask for a better day!

Do you tailgate at these games?

This weather is getting me really excited for football! We have tailgating at every home game, it is hard to get anywhere on Friday nights for away games to do it. Destiny and I paint stuff on our faces, deck out in our football apparel, wear black & gold beads and cheer the team on! We also try to make it to a Mizzou game every year too and last year we got to see the Chiefs play. Not really a fan, but they were playing Buffalo and Destiny's second fave NFL player is on the team!

This is Colton after the game. We went with the FFA and he and his friends each had a letter on their chest. It was VERY cold that day too!
