of course from the sounds of everyone it was pretty bitter.. On a sad note my bantam cochin girl "MC" went missing? It is realy sad becausse she was the sweetest little thing...We looked everywhere and nothing. I kept going down to the coop and looking in and out thinking she would magically appear?? I dont know but it sucks of a neighbors dog got her or something-it was in the day time too

Hi there NY! Great to 'see' you. I am still here, and still feel like pacing. LOL I sat and ate cake (not good) and now I am yucky bloated. arggg.

Goodness, I hate to hear of a bad headache, I know just how that is. I have chronic low blood pressure, and the headaches from it can be debilitating sometimes.

Oh my, I hope your girl shows up.

Cold here. I have been worried a bit about my new little calls, but so far they seem to be doing alright. They have a covered pen, a little hut we built to go in, and straw. I hope that is adequate. They don't have a 'building'.

NY I am sorry to hear you are missing a baby.

Is there still a chance she could show up? WINTER is here!! It is 23 below 0 this morning! Thats not windchill, just plain old temperature! Our power went out at 11 last night, again! Lovely!! It came back on a little after 1. We were both up pacing. Hubby was worried about frozen pipes and having to get a vehicle started at 3:30 AM to get to work. I was concerned about the kittys and chickens. Heat lamps and heated pet pads don't work real good with no power. We lit the kerosene heater and hoped it wouldn't be out long. Raymond slept right through it! Oh to be a kid again!! It turned out fine though. I did my outside chores and checked on everybody, all is well!

Good Morning Everyone!

jazzy--You are more than welcome to have coffee with us also! The more the merrier! I certainly didn't mean to leave you out! It is very cold here too. We got our first little snow last night. The ducks stayed in their house all night, but the geese stood watch outside at the edge of the pen like always. I don't know what is up with that. It is my first winter with them. The turkey also stayed out all night, but the goats were in their house. I don't know if they wouldn't let the turkey in or what is up with that.

NY--Hope you are feeling better! Did you find your baby yet? We got the fiber optic tree decorated last night. Hubby fluffed it up for us and made sure it worked, unplugged it. We put the decorations on it, plugged it back in and nothing. I don't know what happened, so he will have to look at it again later to see what is going on with it.

chickenchick--Missed you Friday! How are things up your way? I almost texted you last night to tell you we got a skiff of snow!

I was so excited!! We are under winter weather advisory starting tonight for up to 6 inches of snow tomorrow and blowing snow and single digits tomorrow night! Hubby and Colton got the truck and snow plow all ready to go. They push snow to make some extra money when we get a storm! I bought stuff yesterday to make chili tomorrow night in anticipation!!

charmed--This Saturday I have a birthday party, the next is Christmas at the in-laws. I can work it in on one of those days, or a Sunday or maybe the weekend after Christmas to meet. Are you ready for this winter blast?

Poor Michelle! You're suppose to get hit tomorrow with 1 to 6 inches of snow! We might have to bring the dog sled up there and dig you out!!

I worry so about mine all the time. Yesterday a hawk was swooping around. I ran outside, called them all back in the chicken house and locked them up for the rest of the day. They don't get to free range anymore unless I'm home. Too many predators looking for dinner. I got the chicken house finally fixed for winter so they are snug! Oh...speaking of snug..I have to show you all what I found this morning. I was getting ready to leave the house and went to look for Eddie. He has to go out before I leave and do his business. Well anyway..this is what I found!

Little turkey! I don't mind him on the bed but he thinks he needs under the covers and a pillow too!! Noooooo...he's not spoiled!

Michelle...If it would be easier for you after Christmas..That's fine. I might be able to come up on a Sunday if that's better for you. My weekends are kinda open until our kids decide when and where we are getting together for Christmas. They all have big extended families so we kinda roll with the flow if you know what I mean. Hot cocoa is good! Did you hear NY? If she were here it would be hot toddys instead of hot cocoa! Ha!

Speaking of Thunder, he almost got sent away again last night. I bought him a big new bone at Orscheln's yesterday. Gave it to him, but he was convinced that every one of us wanted it. Sat there and growled non-stop. Colton walked by and he bit him! Hubby put his hand down to reach for his tea glass and he tried to bite him too. Hubby was very angry!! I put Thunder out, took the bone away, and he was just fine after that. I am not sure how much more hubby is going to put up with, but he said last night I had to take him to the shelter.

We are supposed to get 4-6 inches, I am so ready!! Not looking forward to the cold and blowing though. I have a feeling I am going to be spending many hours at the station this week. I dug out the code word for school closings this morning to be prepared!!
