I am around, for just a few more minutes. It has been a hectic day!

Oh I'm sorry you had a hectic day.

Are things slowing down now?

Yes, finally thank goodness. I am ready to head to the store to get stuff to make homemade pizza tonight. Just waiting for an update from you!!

Howdy! This has been a crazy week, hopefully I will have more time tomorrow to visit and catch up! I love sloppy joes, but I have to prod the boys to eat them! Destiny and I are craving a big, greasy homemade pizza (waiting for NY to
smack.gif
) with shrimp, hamb, onions and lots of cheese!!!!

I made it there plenty early and didn't have any trouble finding it. I map quested it like you girls said. AND the DR had some very interesting insights! My mind is reeling too much to type it all down right now. But do you remember when Raymond first started having so much trouble in school then he had that episode/seizure? You and/or Charmed suggested that maybe what ever happened maybe tied in to his problems in school? Turns out you were right and you should all be making the 6 figures this guy is!!!

I explained that R had been improving mentally and physically sense the Seizure. He said that he thinks the Seizure meds (Keppra) that he had been on was doing that. So that tells him that there is some abnormal; brain activity going on. He believes he suffers from Post Traumatic Complex Partial Seizure disorder! Mouthful huh??!! I know it sounds bad, but, if they can pinpoint the kind of activity and find the right drug we may continue to see improvements we didn't think we would ever see! Even to the point (possible
fl.gif
) that he may regain use of his hand! He apparently has been suffering from abnormal brain activity for a while now that came across as spaciness, and what teen age boy isn't a little spacey!!

There is more but I am not sure if any of that made since! We have another test schedule for next friday.

I am so glad the doc is going to be able to help him! I am going to come back and read this tomorrow when my brain is in not so much overload like it is now. I am heading out now, but feel free to text me later!

Chickenchick-so glad you graduated into a big girl-in your big girl panties!!! Awesome and thats great that they can narrow down what Raymond has. It sounds so complicated? But in a good way? how does he feel about it all?

Thanks everyone!

I know it sounds odd but it really was good news. He feels pretty good about it. He has always been a good student and was on the honor role before AND after his TBI (Traumatic Brain Injury). Then at the end of last school year his grades started to slip, this year they have slid all the way into F ville! He ended up failing this first semester of English
sad.png
So he will have to make that up, plus he is barely passing his other classes. He has been as frustrated as we have been. He says he was trying and he just couldn't remember things and when he did it didn't make any sense. However if the English assignment was to use his imagination and write a story he could write 5 pages in 15 minutes! By the time he had the episode where i came home and found him unresponsive in the drive way his grades were really low. The two months since then that he has been on the Keppra his grades have improved unfortunately not enough to pull up his semester grade but it shows that something was changing. So I am very optimistic that if they can find out exactally what abnormal brain activity he is having and treat it with the right drug, my happy honor roll student will return and possibly function better physically as well

NY I hope your daughter is feeling better

I am such a sissy when it comes to driving in a big city! In my little town if there is 2 cars at the one stop light in town, its busy!
lol.png
I am a SAHM and only go to town when I have to or when I go with hubby. So if I get to town twice a week thats at least one time to many! I am not a social butterfly , I am more like a social

We don't even have a stop light in our town
gig.gif
. I rarely get out either, partly cause I don't deal well with being around very many people
hu.gif
and partly cause I have a hard time driving since I hit a deer last year
hide.gif
. Ed does most of our shopping and the driving to visit family
thumbsup.gif
, I have driven to the feed store though
clap.gif
since the place Ed was gettin it changed their hours
rant.gif
. I'm so glad you're getting answers about what's going on with your son
fl.gif
, wish the teachers had noticed his "spacing out" sooner though cause that's a symptom of seizures. I learned that because that was one thing they had me watching for with my son, he had brain damage due to me running over a 104 degree temp while pregnant
hit.gif
. Hope the meds continue to help him, it must be really frustrating for him at times

PS I'd join ya in a drink but then I might burn my supper:confused:

Hi everyone
It is the weirdest thing and I had to tell someone...... Since my Dh has been off work he has been cutting down unwanted trees and brush and this afternoon I was sitting here at my desk paying bills when he called me and told me to bring some hot dogs down to the garden where he and DS were standing around a fire. It was so weird to have a fire and roast hot dogs on a Thursday in Jan.!
