ok lady! You need to stop posting yout temps out there! Or well be digging for your bones hahaha...actually today is HOT! 32 degrees yeah...chickens are out-well..there doors are open and not much action but they have the chance to at least poo outside!!!~

The neighbors across the road that have that big lake.....there is an old house I have been wanting to go into and take the metal detector. Also they have some more land that has the remnants of an old house. They said I could go snooping anytime!! I have been trying to find out where the out house use to set at the farm. They say you can find lots of neat stuff that they threw away in the "hole" ......besides poo..........

You need to bring your detector up here. I have always wanted one. The lot next to us that we bought has an old church still standing (kinda) and we have already torn down the fellowship hall and 3 hole outhouse. I have often wondered what treasures that piece of land holds. As Colton was taking some of the siding off the church there was some old paper posters still hanging. One was in perfect condition and advertised an old cigarette brand. (can't think of it right now) So it must have been something before it was turned into a church.

When I come to visit, we will explore together! Chickenchick and I can write a creepy book about it and you can be the leading character!! (insert evil smiley here)

It is cloudy and 30 here today. I guess we should be happy one of us was smart enough to live where they don't freeze their nose hairs off all winter long!!

But, I put my foot down when we start getting taunted with the palm trees!

chickenchick - I've made plenty of mistakes with my kiddos but feel really blessed with how sweet, intelligent and well mannered they are. My oldest girl has been a HUGE help over the years also. I can't believe she'll be 18 at the end of this year. I'll only be 36 since I started havin kids kinda young.

I've been a single Mom for most of my kiddos lives too but am lucky to be with someone who really loves me and my kids and does his best to care for us.

Sounds like we both have sons who really fight, in the good way. Sounds like both you and your son are really really lucky, I can't imagine going through something like that. He's a cutie too, I wouldn't have known he'd had such a bad accident if you hadn't already told me.

I LOVE cooking and am really enjoying fixing things my great-grandma used to cook for me, she was an amazing cook. I love learning new recipes too and my kids aren't picky eaters either

. I'll definitely keep charmed in mind for recipes too
smile.png
. I do my pork chops like that except I use potatoes instead of rice, yummmmmmy.

Bant - Hope you're having a great day today

Michelle - Sounds like you have a fun job, at least part of the time
smile.png
. I dated a guy who worked for an auctioneer, he got great deals on stuff too
smile.png
That was how I got my first PC

Guess that's 1 way to get hubby in gear, lol. My trick is I get a coop, etc... started and then Ed and the kids decide they need to help me so I don't hurt my back, yet again.

My oldest daughter and I are into genealogy too. Both my family and her fathers family are really into tracing our roots. I have and uncle who's written 3 books on our family, after he retired. Sounds like your cemetery project was really cool

My kids family has an old family cemetery we go out and clean, as long as there's still room they can choose to be buried there.

I don't normally sleep in, things have just been kinda crazy here since Amy and her kids got here. Everyone was up really late. Poor Ed was working on getting water going back to the tub till about midnight and then I had to wash a load of clothes so he wouldn't be wearing muddy clothes to work. Can't leave it to run either cause a diaphragm went out in it so if we don't shut the water off it overfills.I'm hopin to see a washer on freecycle soon.

We would want to wait for spring for sure, ground is way to hard right now, lol.

Sonew - I wonder if there's any way you could get the adoption records, it would be really neat I think. Must be kinda frustrating for you. I have a cousin who was adopted out, he'd be a year younger than me, I always wonder if he's alive and doing well. I also have 2 nephews who I'm sure are much better off in their adoptive home than with my older brother and their mom, hopefully some day they will come looking for the rest of their family though, they'd be teens now.

Sorry it's so cold up there but glad it's warming up here. Now it's a matter of patching pipes and stuff here

RIR - I'm so jeleaus, we only had 1 egg outta 4 layers again today. I'll be glad when they get back to laying well. Currently 59 here, yay!!!

Charmed - Hi there, hope you're havin a great day today. That animal sale sounds fun

According to my friend who was buying this place before us, really ling story, a road used to go through our property in civil war times. There was a story about a general hanging soldiers at every mile marker, haven't researched it yet though. I think it would be neat to find the grave, if it's on your part of the farm, and put at least some kind of marker up. It's cool that you found a name of someone who was buried there, now to see if it's the same guy
wink.png
Wish I could come over and help find it, and visit family too, lol.

Sounds really neat that your neighbors will let you explore. I've seen on "If these walls could talk" where they have found a lot of really neat stuff in those holes

You know how I found the guy's name? I went into Ask.com and typed in...who in buried at emmett doll's farm. (the origional owner) The first thing that came up is that guys name!! I love Ask.com. Try it and see if you can find any battles on your road, quietheart.

I'll have to try that tomorrow, we're on punishment today so everything takes forever to load. We're on satellite and the girls exceeded our bandwidth yesterday

Please count me in!!

I am glad to hear that your visit was productive and helpful, and the doctor seems to be very caring and concerned. That is always a big find when you get one that genuinely cares.

From what little I know of everything you have been through, that would seem to make a lot of sense.

I am slightly frustrated at the DH today, so can you make me a second one of those? Overall I can't complain, but he is definitely not one to 'do things'. Now as a general rule, I am a major homebody too, but once in a while I like to take the kids out and do this or that. I can never get him to participate, makes me want to :

Your pizza sounds great Michelle, minus the shrimp!! ack!! I love a big old-fashioned greasy pizza, the way they used to be!

Just to throw out an idea Chickenchick, there is homeschooling that could be a good fit for him, if even for a little while. I would have never thought I could do it, and I think it is going really well here.

I had to pen up the girls. Everywhere they were finding a spot without snow- they have proceded to dig it all to crap, made messes all over the side yard. They even got into the bit of coals that fall out of the front of the outdoor wood burner. I have assume none of them got burnt, they all seem fine, and are not happy at all at being put back in their pen.
They have an outdoor area, but want out of course. LOL They had an entire forest to roam around in and dig, and just had to tear up mulched areas up by the house, to make DH gripe!

Off to read again....
