I went back and read .. nothing Tanya said indicated she would be MIA today .. UNLESS she is busy planning for my "snow day" arrival ..

The new brooder is now painted. Or rather, the pieces are painted.

I chintzed out and didn't prime it so the paint will end up being rather streaky. I figured the chicks don't care if it's painted & I was really making sure everything was more or less one color and easier to clean out in between batches of babies.

Once it is dry, I can put the top together & figure out how I'm going to attach it. (Yeah, I know, it probably would be wise to do that before going this far, but that would take all of the fun out of it!

My first marriage I was married to a Navy man, we were stationed in Pax River Maryland. He invited one of his men over for supper and told them we were having chicken ribs. The guy believed him and after he arrived and i served fried chicken, he said he was so worried about how he was going to eat a chicken rib.

Oh, trust me. I shouldn't. I have had NO energy for the last few weeks. My ongoing lung & allergy issues have been giving me a fit. (Lung issues probably stem from a bout of histoplasmosis that destroyed the sight in one of my eyes at age 17.) Have felt short on O2 for days lately.

This little brooder project TRULY is not a big project. It is a wooden children's toybox or bench with a hinged lid. We took the lid off & I painted it. Cut 8 little strips of furring & will be making that into a lid with some plastic hardware wire.

The garden project is getting done in 10 minute segments.

I have been taking breaks every 10-15 minutes cause that's just all I can do at a time right now.
