Ever feel lonely when you dont have any PM's waiting for you?

We've been out putting chunks of bricks and cement blocks in the yard so my son will know where to dig for my garden plants.

He's got 12 holes to dig for berries and grapes that are waiting in the garage & then a flower/rhubarb bed in the area of lawn inside the pool fence. (Those plants are toxic -- rhubarb leaves & lilies). Then, I marked to show him where he'll be expanding my garden beds. Goal: Turn most of the backyard into a food growing area. There is enough space out there to grow virtually all of my fruits and veggies, once I get things planted and producing. I'm not used to having property where there is not FOOD growing all the time...

Glad everyone's ok in your family Roz. Glad you finally got your boot too. We're just [plant some berry bushes and strawberries this year, I simply can't do the weeding I'd have to do in a full garden.

Rozz glad to hear everyone is fine!
Oh berries and grapes jammie, I just planted some tomato seeds and an pepper plant, waiting for my BF to finish the greenhouse so I can seed some more veggies!

Just finished dinner, BF made roasted garlic chickens with backed potatoes and with french beans from the garden

and I am stuffed..

We got most of our garden planted last week.

I planted 11 tomato plants yesterday .. different varieties..

The chickens were watching me intently ..

I was warning them .. empahatically .. LOL

We're going to put up a fence .. soon! Because they sure will destroy it in about another week when everything starts to come up.

We rented one .. and it sure made a difference this year .. made quick work of the dirt .. we got a pretty good mix..

Hope we get lotsa good stuff!

I'm wondering if I keep it tilled if it would make it easier next year to have an actual garden, was also thinking about maybe planting beans because they are supposed to be good weed suppressors. I've only done a garden 3 times in my life, once when I was 7 I did a tomato garden for some program Mom put us in, once in Florida with a raised flowerbed (was super easy but expensive), and 2 summers ago which was a disaster since the kids were with relatives and I can't do the weeding. What do all of you think?

elizabeth - just reading about your cleaning sprees makes me

. I don't see how that book could have helped you cut down by 2 hours a day...of course, that's b/c I don't clean for 2 hours a day.
lol.png
My house IS a mess though...I use to have a lady come and clean once a week for me, but she moved...I really need someone else b/c I just can't keep up with my crazy work hours and the baby during the day, plus all the animals and the other fun stuff I want to do!

I have a junk drawer, which also holds bills I need to deal with, etc. DH has a junk COUNTER where he puts everything when he comes in, but it NEVER gets cleaned off.

I guess I can't say too much since my junk drawer from when I was a kid is still intact at my mom's house.

Tex & quiet - when you have your "visit the folks trip" I expect to be included in that! Where do they live again? I know you've told me and it's not that far, but I can't remember.

Michelle - I LOVE Honky Tonk Badonkadonk - that's what we walked into at our wedding reception.

Have a safe trip!

Whew - finally caught up!

I ended up with 18 fluffy butts from my hatch!

I bribed DH and told him I would find a babysitter for him tonight if he would till the garden. He agreed.

I won't have time to plant until next week, but at least that part will be done so I can get to the rest of it!
