Ever Had This Kind Of Conversation???

There is just no reasoning with some people, because they have no reasoning skills. I like the outragouse response of AussieSharon "....raising a small herd of buffalo, now thats a different story!"

I would LOVE to see someones reaction if I said that but I honestly dont know if I could keep a straight face!

Its like that story.

If you give an animal lover a chicken, then they are gonna want some pigs.

If you give them a pig, then they are gonna make people mad.

If they make people mad, they are gonna want a cow.

so on and so forth.

Actually, I have had that conversation, but it's more like, "OMG, what are you going to get NEXT?!?!? A goat? A llama? A wolverine?"

I am fundamentally lazy and don't want any more chores than I have if I can avoid it, so I think the next animals we get, other than a few barn cats, will be fish. Specifically, I want to build a cistern to catch the barn roof runoff--which will be quite a lot in these parts--and put tilapia or trout and freshwater shrimp in. Yum!

I think so many people are just misinformed on the whole idea of raising chickens. And not just people in the city, you even find country people that wrinkle their nose at chickens. Sheesh!

Chickens do lead to goats lol. After I got chickens I started wanting goats. My DH told me no way. He says I will never have goats. Wait till we move and I can hide one on an acre ot two lol. He will ask when I got it and I will say it just showed up one day

Though I love all the comments made here, thank you, light heartedness makes that kind of comment WAY easier to take and see for what it is.
