My husband didn't believe me when I told him that chickens yawn. My girls were having a little siesta in the sun today while I cleaned up their coop and run and this is Ginger, a 16 week old Buff Orpington. She just kept yawning and yawning.

I love that photo! I have a photo of one of my beloved, passed cats in a BIG yawn.

I do want to tell you that yawns ARE contagious even on the 'net and when it's a chick. I now need a cup of coffee!

I don't think it's gapeworm though..My BO, especially when she was young, yawned all the time. And with gapeworm you usually don't see the eyes close like that either...she just looks tired. Very cute though, BOs are one of my favorite breeds
