To much of it now. We went for at least 3 weeks of zero rain here in Eastern, NC. Monday we got 6 1/2 inches by our rain gauge, yesterday about 1/2 an inch. Then tropical "something" is headed this way and they are calling for anywhere from 3 to 7 inches today. yahooooooo!

trying to stay dry

I hope it washes out the stinky from Lake Waccamaw.

It was smelling like a pig pen!

If it becomes a strong tropical storm, you'd better make sure your generator is gassed up, because the trees won't stand in the saturated ground.

We got 7" Monday, and it's been raining since about 1AM today
The "storm" won't be here until tonight and tomorrow

We got it earlier this morning, almost 5 inches in my rain gauge and I live close to the coast. Yall up in NC should be getting it now. There's plenty more on the way too, later today.

We went over a month with no rain here in Orange County

It was the same here, but all this rain now will mean many farmers will lose their entire peanut crops, which should have been harvested this week, but now they can't get the equipment in the fields.

The peanuts can only stay in the saturated ground a few days before they start to rot or sprout

It's also stopped the Cotton harvest, and could cause huge losses there too

The only crop it's helping is Soybeans
