That would be easier. But I feel that as long as I go to the right breeders, that I can get good, quality birds. And you can quite often find those at shows...where I've gotten a quite a few of my birds.

Here is an update on my dark cornish bantam chick. She appears to be a pullet. Clarisse is now a week old. At least of today. I felt like I would show you all her progress, especially since it will help me keep track of her aging, lol.

That is actually the best picture I could get. Clarisse may be friendly, but she does not like staying in the same place long. But that's how I am too,so I feel her pain of taking pictures.hahaha

Exactly. But Clarisse is really friendly otherwise. We have her mother, but her father is unknown,so we may have him and we might not. We picked up a pair of DC bantams at a poultry show. They were in a pen of like 10 or 12 others. It was a mixed pen of pullets and cockerels. We bought just a pair, and when I got home,I noticed hat the pullet had laid an egg... But that was the only one I've gotten from her so far. Though we got them on September 12th. But the older they are,the longer they take to settle in is what I've noticed.
