Everything Is Illegal In America??

I think I'll start practicing a new philosophy. I will not comply, resistance is not futile.

This is happening throughout most of the Western world, not just in the US. The European Union does little other than pass Directives forcing member States to pass laws similar to those mentioned in the video.

One example is a draft Directive that limited the radius of the curve on bananas. Laws based on this would have outlawed the importation of bananas from the West Indies to Britain and forced Britain to buy from a very few other sources. Fortunately, the Directive was laughed out of existence but in Britain you can now buy only one type of banana. We grow our own here and have a choice of half a dozen different sizes and tastes.

It's not just about legislation but the petty and intimidating way in which it is being used. Government officials, other than the natural bullies, have no choice but to do as they are told or interpret laws strictly if they want to keep their jobs. There are two purposes for this. One is the harassment of ordinary people - bully them in small ways and they will accept you bullying them in bigger ways later. The other reason is to protect big businesses from new competition.

We have been warned about this for several decades but the individuals who spoke up were derided by both governments and individual citizens. Perhaps people are now waking up and I hope it's not too late.

I know many people who enjoy living in Thailand because of its freedoms. Some are retired and some work in other countries and have their homes here. Most of us would agree that the enforcement of some laws is too lax but, on balance, most of us could no longer put up with the petty restrictions on ordinary life back home. Here are just a few examples:

1. Chickens for food You can buy factory chickens if you want but many country homes keep their own for eggs and meat. No licences and no other restrictions.

2. Parking You can usually park your car with no time limit or fee just about anywhere you want other than on main highways. You never see blocked roads or fights over spaces so it works.

3 Restaurants and Street Food Stalls Business licences are easy to get and you don't need them until the business is well established. I don't know of any cases of food poisoning in these places so that system works too. Small traders can pay a nominal rent to shop owners for the use of their forecourt areas during shop closing hours, enabling many less well off people to have a business.

There are many other examples of how things here are as they were in the UK when I was a boy.

Another difference is the relaxed enforcement of many laws here. In most instances, if you aren't bothering someone else you will not be troubled by petty law enforcement. No-one wants hassle, not even police officers.

So it's another conspiracy.

Conspiracy = Any concurrence in action; combination in bringing about a given result.
Isn't this what you said ?

Where did you get that definition? It could mean that two weather fronts meeting and causing storms could be a conspiracy. Is that what you believe a conspiracy to be?
