Everything takes so long to load on the new BYC

Where's the spell check?

If your Preferred Editor Type is set to Rich Text Editor (in Preferences), then there is a Spell Check icon on the right in the Reply Editor toolbar. It says ABC with a check mark under the letters.

I personally like the built in spell check option in my Chrome browser better tho (FireFox has it too, you may need to enable it on your browser)... To use it you will need to hold down the Ctrl or Cmd key down while you right click on the underlined (misspelled) words tho. The Reply Editor's Spell check loads a little slow for me (and for a lot of other users), so this is an easy fix to work around that issue. It's a little awkward at first, but after doing it enough times, it gets more natural feeling.

My computer just got upgraded recently, and byc is running S-l-o-.... w It makes me so mad and then End now comes up!!!! I used to be on facebook a lot until it started doing this same crap. now I have noticed I'am spending less, and less time on byc. It makes me sad. And it dosen't let me log in I have to reset my PW every time I'am on a different computer. I don't really mind the ads and stuff, but If I could change one thing then it would be the emoticon pop up, it only lets me choose one and then closes, the emoticons made byc lively, and I feel as though without the old acess to emoticons that byc will not be the same. :(

From my experience since day 1 of new BYC is it is faster than the old one.

That's true for me too, I use fire fox haven't used explorer at all in a long time, I still have the option on my computer to access Internet through explorer and normally only do so to download a newer version of fire fox. Found that explorer is alot slower on most sites.

My computer at work was delayed loading byc on the old system and isn't now. I can access it pretty easy on my phone (DROID) Was at a place this weekend that doesn't have the best service, and still was able to get it to load quickly.

I have noticed that if stuff starts to load slower and try to freeze up, its usually to do with some kind of malware and scams on my computer and once I run a scan through my anitivirus and malware protection it clears up. Someone mentioned that facebook started doing the same thing for them. Mine will to but once the malware is scanned and cleared it goes back to normal.

Firefox and Chrome slowed me down alot, so I went back to IE and had NO problems at all. I really didn't need all that junk to bog down my memory storage, downloads on my laptop. So "if it ain't broken, dont fit it motto" works for me in this case.

I am just tolerating it but not online as much as I used to when BYC went thru a "facelift". It just takes time and brains to figure all this out. Little by little LOL!

I also have the slow issue, it not only slows down my internet, it boggs my computer down, like there is too much client side language processes going on. I try to use server side languages on my sites, so all the processing is done on my server, not on the clients computer.

Ive racked my brain trying to think of what the problem is, I've heard from people using all types browsers and some say its better some say its worse and some it didn't change for them. I know the 3 sources I use it made one better the rest the same. There's no one browser that seems to be the problem. Has me bumfuzzled, Like i said i have no problems but hate that others are would like to know what it is.

It's extremely slow for me as well. It takes up to a minute for a page to load. I haven't been on as much because of it, though I do try it once a day to see if something changes.
Is it possible that the new forum might not be compatible with certain computers?? I'm no techy so I don't know but I can go home on my mothers laptop and it run a little faster than my work computer. My work comp is an HP. The ones at home are Dells.

I'm no techie, but I have wondered whether it isn't sometimes the malware that your particular antivirus software doesn't catch. Computer folks have told me it may take running 5 or 6 different programs to find them all. I'm pretty sure the brand of computer doesn't make much if any difference.

I use FF on a Compaq which is probably 3 years old. I have 2-3 second delays loading, when there is any at all. From reading on here, I think more people have problems with IE than other browsers, though it works well enough for some. Once in a while I open my IE; it always shuts itself down within a minute or so. To be fair, I've made no effort to fix this.
