Roxann had a great suggestion. Take a scrap of see-through netting or window screen and erect a partition so the evil chick can still see the others but can't hurt them. I did this a couple years ago when I had an injured chick but didn't want to completely take her away from the rest of the brood. She would snuggle up to the window screen partition at night and they would snuggle up on their side, so they were still together and touching.

I was serious when I suggested it might be a cockerel. The chicks I've raised that turned out to be roosters were little terrors in the brooder, running around, pecking every one and just over-full of energy.

Sounds like you might have a roo from my last hatch there was a fireball he would attempt to flog us,peck, bite and try to scratch with his talons. He has since calmed down but for the longest he was evil, kids call him Ninja.

I used the idea and my chicks seem happier now the little evil one can't hurt them, haha oh dear I really hope it isn't a roo, don't want another-.- and it's called Lilly haha

It sounds silly but she only attcked the yellow chicks, never the black ones which are identical to her, how strange?
