Evil Evil Stepfather *grumbles*

I have to add my 2 cents little yellow one. I can understand your frustration with your "disabilities". You have to make a choice every single morning (and sometime every minute or hour) when you wake up to be happy and do something productive. It really makes you feel so much better when you do something to better your situation, I know it will be difficult, but be creative and see where life will take you. I understand the anxiety, it is one of the most difficult things I have ever overcome, and continue to overcome everyday. As far as jobs go, do you have a neighbor that needs help around their farm or house, or an elderly relative that you could spend time with. These may not pay, but it will make you feel like your contributing, which will make a world of difference. Just because you still live with your mom and step dad does not make you bad or worthless at all, but you do need to work on "leaving the nest", not permanently (if your arrangement is agreeable by you and your family) but little by little and start working on those problems. Best of luck to you - hold your head up and dive in to life!!

Thank you Conroy appreciated....Iwas thinking along those lines. x

Actually Ann Landers and her twin Sister Abigail Van Buren were advice columnists for the major newspapers until their deaths. Their daughters have continued the columns in their honor. They covered topics from family issues to social issues in their columns.

Ugh it's true people tend to get worked up and things go to far. I apologize I think being a woman and seeing so many of my old classmates go through similar issues. makes me want to play the tough mommy role but I have no idea what your life is really like. I do hope things work out for you and I do want you to succeed. I do agree that you should talk to your step dad regarding chickens you both could end up learning new things.

IF he is actually verbally and emotionally abusive then get help and get out.

Other than that if you truly are happy at home and your parents are cool with it then there ya go, no problem.

Hasn't anyone considered the economic issue here? It ain't that easy to go out on your own. And if you have some issues, it's a little more difficult, besides, we don't know her whole story. Does it hurt to have a little compassion?

I agree plan for YOUR future and take steps (however small they might seem to be) to get there.
I am not the same person I was in HS, I am better! I am not the same person I was at college, I am better! I am not the same person that I was when I was 30, I am better!

The journey and experience is worth it !!!!!
I took a lot from "The Great Gatsby" when I was in HS -not the sad part.

Best of luck to YOU!!! You'll get there!

Soooooooooo, back to the chicken dilemma.

Get a Silkie pullet. Put her in the cage with your bantam cockerel. She'll do what silkies do.... sit on eggs until they hatch. Then you'll have more chickens.

What? Step dad wont want you to keep them?
Put a newly hatched chick in his hands. Name that chick after him.

There is no way that you wouldn't be able to keep those baby silkies they hatch out, have you seen those little buggers? Irresistable!

Oh I think you could join some bird clubs, like showing chickens. Maybe your step dad and mom would get in with you, surprize how many freind you could meet. Not counting your birds.

Chickens clubs or Pigeon Show

Nothing wrong with you not driving at 19 . I lost my SON at 19 ,2 week short of his 20th birthday. Head on car accident. I think young people start driving to soon.

We lose more young people 16 to 21 to car accident than any war!!!!!

Find a hen of the same breed and let her set the eggs, and show some at your fair, what those farm grown boys hitting on you.

Deerman-I'm so sorry about your son. That must be real hard.

Deerman, what a great suggestion! Joining a bird club and perhaps showing would be a great way to build confidence. Plus, it would help build your contact base. The best way to get a job is to know people in the areas you love. I also like the idea of raising chicks to sell. Figure out what breed is most marketable in your area and start with a couple of hens and a roo. Then you get more chickens AND you have money coming in.
