my son bit into a slice of wonder bread and spit it out.. said something poked him.. when i looked it was a spider leg about 1" long.. disgusting.. and our neighbors were having trouble with their little girl.. she kept getting bites around her eyes.. turns out since she had very long thick eyelashes, they caught a spider with a flashlight attacking them.. her eyes fluttered when she slept and the spider thought it must have been another spider and would attack. they had to ck her bedroom everyday to make sure there were no spiders or webs around..

Hi! I shouldn't admit this, but I have a flock/cluster/group (what does one call a breeding group of spiders) of tiny 'jumping spiders' in the house (there is always one close that bops between my moniter and the overhead light right here). I think they are fascinating and wouldn't hurt one on purpose. They don't make webs that I've ever seen and (if one has to have spiders) are quite personable.
I'll get a pic sometime and maybe they can be ID'd.
I'm tolerant of all our spiders except Black Widows and Recluses.

...the average person eats 8 spiders in a lifetime while they sleep...

OH, one was perched on the edge of my waterglass the other night and it went down before was awake enough to stop. That's one I know of.

Portia spiders!!! They are so cool! There were more, on the East coast. I hardly see any out here. They were brightly colored too. They look you in the eye, if you pick them up, like preying mantis'. It makes me think they are smarter. Portias can figure stuff out and plan ahead and remember stuff. They are awesome!
