Be careful what you name your pets: ours seem to spend every moment trying to live up to it.
His name is "Rat", changed to RatCat so as not to confuse the vet's office. He really did look like a little rat when he first appeared (long story there) hairless tail and skin-and-bones starved. He has never forgotten being starved; all food must be measured and served at precise times.
Once he had to be on a medicated diet; found out he was mooching next door, eating out of the neighbor's ginormous cat food bowl she always left out. She recognized the cat I was holding; one of her regulars. I didn't pitch a fit, just pointed out that leaving food out all night would attract skunks (it was the nastiest animal I could think of).
He also sucked on earlobes for years. Vet said it was because he was weaned too early. He only does it now when he's feeling bad.
