Hello,

My name is Jamie from SE Michigan. I'm excited to be joining this group. Just got our first batch of ISA Brown's today. 11 total, 6 of which we're brooding for a friend. I also have ordered 2 Araucana-Americauna mixes and 1 each of silver lace and gold lace Wyandotte's from Townline Hatchery out of Zeeland, MI. They're currently housed in a 100 gallon metal feed trough with a double heat lamp. We'll be building a 6 x 10 run for them on the side of our garage with the actual coop area being inside of the back portion of our garage. Thanks to everyone for all the posts and information. I've learned a lot in the last week or so.

So glad you could join our community! Congrats on the new babies too. Aren't they just adorable? Have you stopped by our learning center yet? Lots of great articles on raising your new chicks along with raising them to adulthood and keeping them healthy all throughout their lives...https://www.backyardchickens.com/atype/1/Learning_Center

Enjoy this new journey you are on! If you have any questions about your new chicks, feel free to ask around the forums. We do welcome you to our flock!

So glad you have joined us and congrats on getting your own flock. They are so cute.

IMO, Stew is right, they are the best pets ever!

A coop in the garage with outdoor run will be wonderful for all. Would love to see pics when you get it all done.
