I’m looking into possibly getting fancy pigeons and exotic doves at some point and I’m curious (doing numbered questions for simplicity)

1) Can pigeons and exotic doves be kept together? I’ve seen conflicting stuff (som e people saying they’re the same and some people saying that the pigeons will brutalise the doves)

2) what else can be kept with exotic doves and pigeons (I know diamond doves and stuff are sometimes kept with them but I was wondering about quail and other aviary birds excluding parrots)

3) what breeds/species of each would be good to start? (Although I imagine it’d be easier fancy pigeon wise, I want to pick the doves carefully. I like Luzon bleeding heart doves but I might hold off depending on weather I need more experience of them)

4) what would be appropriate housing for them?

5) is it tangible to house exotic doves in the uk? (My college has crested doves, so I’m assuming so, but either way I’m concerned about the winter and the cold, would a heated indoor area be sufficient for the winter? If not what are other options that could help)

Thanks! Any other pieces of advice are welcome, the exotic dove community is very small from what I can tell, and most doves have barely any information on them

Doves and pigeons are the same thing - just as small and large dogs are.
Well,, Im not familiar with the doves you are talking about,, But here in the US, they are similar, but different species.
They can not be bred together to create a hybrid. At least never heard of it. Maybe in some secret underground laboratory. :idunno

You can breed/mix all dogs. Cant mix a dog and a cat.

Here in the US, doves are protected by a

Migratory Bird Treaty Act of 1918

The Migratory Bird Treaty Act prohibits the taking, killing, capturing, transporting, harboring of the birds or hatching eggs, that which are Native to the United States of America and Europe. All are protected by state and federal agencies.

There are pet white doves that are kept in cages inside homes. Those once escape, will not return to cage. They are not pigeons.

Pigeons are not protected anywhere that I know.
Magicians do use small white pigeons in their magic tricks. They sometimes refer to them as doves. Still pigeons as to my observation.

Here is a pix of Pigeons that I raised, and free flown. Called loft flying. And I did short tosses. (few miles)

Overview

The poop on doves - 101 Highland Lakes

There is no scientific difference between doves and pigeons; both are members of the same bird family, Columbidae. The terms are used interchangeably, but colloquially, "dove" generally refers to smaller birds, while "pigeon" refers to larger birds, like the common rock dove or feral pigeon. Some physical distinctions exist between species, such as smaller size, delicate heads, and slender beaks in doves, versus larger bodies and thicker necks in pigeons.
