Expanding coop—is wider or longer better?

I'd go wider, for when you add birds, they can get by each other without 'touching'.

I’m sorry, I don’t have a pic handy, but it’s about 4x10–I love on a good chunk of land, so there’s plenty of space. Just not sure what the chickens would prefer. Wider might give them more space to run and jump?

At 4 feet wide I would widen, not lengthen

yup, definitely go wider, i just got done building an addition to my coop and wider seemed like the best choice!
