I have a great flock of chickens that live comfortably in a converted bike shed but I'd love to raise some chicks and don't want to overstock the shed. So I'd like to move them to a barn nearby but don't know how I could train them to recognise the new home. Or would the chicks go to bed in the new place if they were raised there even though the adults still go to the old house? I've never seen a set-up where free-ranging chickens live in different barns.

Would be most grateful for any advice.
