Hello all,

I'm considering buying the Start and Grow unit sold by Murray McMurray and wondering if anyone has any experience with it. Yes, I understand I can just use a cardboard box and heat lamp but it's looking like soon I'll be bigger than just a backyard chicken operation so looking to take the plunge on more "professional" equipment.

My favorite "brooder" is a broody hen but I don't have one of those right now!

Thanks!

I like it. And the price is about what similar items cost. I was fortunate enough to get one of the mismanaged TSC brooder towers when they quit using them in their stores and going to a vertical brooder setup made life much easier. I can tag the brooder levels with hatch dates, breeds, etc, and quickly and easily refill food and water, etc.

For comparison's sake, they still sell those units new at TSC in the full tower version HERE but also in a stackable single unit at a time version HERE. In the right hands, we've found that they work great.
