Maybe you need to be more hands on with your birds when raising?

The first time I got CX and BBB turkeys, I got attached. It was hard on me to wack them. Especially the turkeys. After that I quit playing with my food . I let broodies hatch and raise.

Yes you're video has everyone so calm as you're walking with the bird to the scalder . I harvested a jake this morning. He was beat up yesterday and I shoved him in a crate in the coop before lockup. I took him out first thing this morning, about 2 hrs ago and most of the broody raised chickens are still hiding from me. The older brooder raised birds have settled down.My way definitely is not easier on the birds.
