My 25 Black-Sex=Link hens started laying extra large brown eggs at 5 months and 4.5 years later 6 are still laying extra large brown eggs. My 33 Golden Buffs hatched Oct 5 2015 started laying small to large brown eggs on Feb 4 2016. WOW that was fastest I have seen in 50 years. The Golden Buff's large eggs are not even close to weight of Black-Sex-Link eggs. No double yonks either. I compared weights and extra large from Black-Sex-Link was 1.5 times weight of largest from Golden Buffs from March and April 2016. Their all in 20 x 30 pen with roof closed in back wall and 1/2 closed in 2 end walls and 10 x 40 bird cage. Once my garden is up turn chickens out to do my bug catching for me.
